is it really worth it... even with a 1% chance they will do it? I am sure you can handle passing on the joint

Summer doesn't start for at least a couple of months...

Because when you're in a room full of smart people, smart suddenly doesn't matter—interesting is what matters.

It's easy to pass a OTC drug test with at least 3 days heads up. I'm not exactly sure what method MSSB would use to test, but I'm sure it wouldn't be Walgreens brand.

If you're really that worried about it there are plenty of other things that'll give you a spiritual journey that don't show up on a drug test.

I worked at Morgan Stanley for the summer and YES they absolutely do drug test for summer analysts and summer associates.

After filling out stack of employee paperwork I was sent up to a "nurse" who made me urinate in a cup, and she drug tested it for urine. (My summer job was only 8 weeks.)

FYI that it was at NYC headquarters, possible smaller offices don't have facilities and skip it for summers, and that it was a few years ago.

I passed, but short answer is YES they do drug test including incoming summer interns, at least for New York HQ summer associates.

Yes they tested on the first day. First employee paperwork (lots of it, incl. disclosure of all stockholdings, understanding of insider trading laws etc.). Then drug test. Only when you passed did you go and see your VP or MD at Morgan Stanley.

FYI I also spent a summer at Goldman (also at NYC HQ) and they did not drug test.

Any of the bigger firms will test unless your not on the books or receiving credit for your internship.

ALWAYS BE CLEAN WHEN STARTING A NEW JOB

End of story

You never know whether or not they will test you. I will never the first day on a job where i never thought they would test me (non-finance bullshit internship) and guess what? Within 30 minutes on my first day they sent me to a drug screening center. Thank God I was clean at the time.

Some friendly advice: There are plenty of substances out there that only stay in your system for a few days. And in my opinion, most of these substance a lot more fun than mary jane.
