Freshmen Scheduling Rec

Hi,

I'm a rising freshman at Penn(aka Upenn) and I was wondering if I could get some suggestion regarding classes to schedule that would make me a viable candidate for an investment banking internship possibly sophomore summer? I can only take a max of 6 0f these bc i have other req to fulfill...Also should I continuing taking spanish (4yrs high school) though I'm fluent in 2 other for.languages?

*unrelated question----does working as bank teller this summer help with getting an internship?

Working as a bank teller won't help you get shit. Though I do have a friend who did that his first two summers of college and is starting FT S&T at GS this summer. I would definitely stay with Spanish if I were you. Become fluent in 3 languages. From the list, and based on what I think you're going for, I would rule out Management and Logistics unless either of those really interest you... I find them interesting.

 

Working as a bank teller will help you only in the sense that having previous employment will look good on your resume. As far as IB/high finance goes, it's on par with being a bagboy at a grocery store.

Only take Spanish if you want to. Rule out the Management and Logistics classes (unless they are known to be easy, good grade distribution?)
