Hello From Wisconsin

Hey guys,

I am a soon to be senior (1 more final to go) at the University of Wisconsin - Madison majoring in Personal Finance with a minor in entrepreneurship. The reason I came here is to get some opinion on a career path following graduation when the time comes. The obvious choice is to become a financial planner/advisor, but I am not sure if this is the route I would like to take. If possible I would like something with a salary, and then later branch off and become an independent agent. What types of path's would you guys recommend I look into with a major of this sort? Also, I will be interning with Guardian this summer, and will have my life and health licensing complete within the next few weeks. My goal is to have Series 7 and Series 66 completed within a year of graduation as well as preparing of the CFP exam.

I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say!

Ty

I do not come from a wealthy family, or from a wealthy area which is exactly the reason I do not want to go directly into advising. Although it is something I definitely want to get into eventually. It is hard though because that is where most of the students with my degree go.
