I was dealt an unforeseen bad hand: Advice appreciated!

Hello everyone, I'll try to sum up my situation quickly as I'm sure you are all busy people. I'll mention briefly how I got interested in finance and my current dilemma.

Several years ago I graduated college with a BS in Biology. Upon graduating, I became interested in finance, despite the fact that I applied to a doctor of physical therapy program (DPT). While waiting to get accepted into a DPT program, lucky me found an intern Private Equity position on Craigslist near me.

At that PE firm I was only there 3 days a week. The 2 weekdays I came I did mostly cold calling (which I despised), but they gave me an excuse to attend the Saturday classes where Series 7 material was taught by the General Manager (he was only 26 years old, but knew quite a lot).

Anyways, after 6 months there, I got accepted into DPT school and left.

While in DPT school, I noticed pain in my feet due to them being very flat. After 3 years I have completed the academic portion, but I could not treat patients in the hospital.

So after conservative treatments failed, 5 months ago I went through a 6.5 hour reconstructive surgery on my foot where I had to keep it off the ground and elevated. I spent most of the 2 months after surgery in my bed.

SO HERE'S MY DILEMMA:

Because of what has happened and due to me needing eventual surgery on my left foot (likely in October), I may not complete the DPT program. I am actually considering a career change given the bad hand I've been dealt.

Luckily, I have 2 months left of pre-reqs from a pretty good online MBA program, so at least that is something good.

I am wondering the best way to proceed now to work in finance. Understandably, I feel insecure in the lack of work experience I have in finance.

I was considering trying to become a financial analyst and then trying to get into Venture Capital if possible. What would I need to do to become a financial analyst?

Currently, besides working on my MBA right now, I also write on my fitness blog, do fitness YouTube videos and I have over 200,000 followers on one social media site.

I am pretty much searching for direction right now on how to proceed given the insecurity I feel.

Any advice is appreciated!
