M&A or Asset Management (or other IB Department) for Macro-orientated Person?

Hi, regardless of degree, what would you recomend for someone with an interest in global trends and macro economics? "global trends and macro economics", as in a great interest in how politcal, corporate and individual decisions relate and impact the corporate, national and global economy.

Any response is greatly appriciated, I'm lookin to learn as much as possible.

It sounds to me like a macro related desk e.g. FX, Rates, even Commodities within S&T would best apply your interests into a job. If you're the type of person who will follow these interests through a PhD program for Economics/Econometrics then an Economist position at a bank or consultancy would make sense as well.

Not sure how you came up with M&A or Asset Management (unless it's a very top down oriented strategy) as relevant.
