MBA student, 30 yr old, career switch from Government to finance, what first?

Hi, first post here. I have about 1.5 yrs left to finish my MBA (part time, non-ranked school) and my goal is to switch careers from government procurement/purchasing to a finance role, either corporate or IB. I'm pretty illiterate at this point in terms of finance career paths and that's why I'm here to ask your advice. I want to get out of government, which I can stand any longer, and into a career in the real world. If I want to pursue a concentration for my MBA in finance, which route should I go, investments or corporate finance?

Regardless of my post-MBA career choice, I think a finance concentration would be best. I've never worked in the private sector, so I don't have any corporate experience to take with me. I'm also a navy vet, which I think will help with networking / impressing recruiters.

Thanks!
