Nice to meet you man and the key is build a network of connections either through your school alumni or friends. It will help you in the long run.
Thanks Beny.
Do you recommend cold-calling Toronto boutiques at this stage, or with my background to be attempting to secure a PWM role to just get my foot in the door?
I would cold call/email. It always might work. I did that and it worked pretty well.
hi.. i am new here...
I am not sure if it will work in Canada or not, but some boutiques in (Eastern) Europe and Asia hire students who show up at their front door and submit their resume. I have heard of two people getting an internship that way.
MSF program?
No unfortunately not, seems like most of them want work experience to get in, or to waive it a business or econ degree is required.
It's the MIB program at Queen's
That's what I was wondering. Forgive me for being an ignorant American :), but how is the MIB different than an MBA?
double post.
Haha no worries at all, it can be rather confusing sometimes. The MIB is more of a pre-experience program, it requires you to have either had a business undergrad or to have taken a requisite amount of undergrad business classes. Most people are fresh out of their undergrad when taking it (from what I've seen) and the course content has an international focus, which also involves a 2nd semester exchange.
I would say the lack of work experience and the emphasis on prior business coursework would be the key things that differentiate it from an MBA.
