Which would get my foot in the door easier?
I'm just wrapping up my sophomore year in college (Grand Canyon University in Phoenix) and wasn't able to land an internship this summer... I believe due to my lack of experience in the financial market. However, I'm looking for ways to make sure I don't have this problem next summer. So, my question is what would be more beneficial for me to take summer classes through a finance school like NY School of Finance or SMB Capital trading program, or other possible ventures?

I'm also a sophomore, but I live in Tokyo and I don't think that there is as much competition here as say NY. I've interned with Bloomberg, and have an internship with JPM starting in a few weeks. Nothing, and I mean nothing has been more beneficial to me than networking. I landed both of my internships via people I knew.
UPDATE: Nearly 2 years after I wrote the post asking about internships, I was able to land three internships during my Senior year (each a little over 3 months long). I ended up landing job offers from two of the internships, and excepting a job as an investment analyst at my initial internship. So, to anyone out there wondering what to do if they were in the position I was in (mostly going to a non-name brand college), I would write: be flexible to move (specifically to a major city... that's where the internships/jobs are), and don't worry if you don't land an internship your Sophomore or Junior, but bust your ass to make sure you have one your Senior year... I cannot express the importance of an internship, at least one! Also, if you don't go to a "name brand" college, don't fret... it just means you'll have to work twice as hard. When I say work hard, I mean apply, apply, apply, and when you think you've applied enough, apply some more!! Casting a wide net when applying to an internship means you may not land the internship you pictured, but at a certain point where you worked isn't nearly as important as the experience you'll gain... which definitely helps when you graduate!!
