Who Is the Richest Person You know?

Hey guys, just wondering:

Who is the richest person you know? ( don't say their name of course, just describe them)
What is their occupation?
Are they self-made or did they inherit their riches?
What's their self-worth?

I have a friend that goes to college with me (University of Texas) and he is an international. Apparently, his parents serve on the Communist Party and are on the board. He drives an R8 around campus and I've seen him throw down 2k+ every time he goes downtown and just keeps the tab open for his buddies. He's in an asian fraternity down here. I also heard that he gives his girlfriend a credit card and just lets her buy whatever she wants. His family is probably worth 7 figures USD and 8 figures RMB

My godmother, partner at Big 4 firm, then CFO, then partner at a top 10 firm. All self-made, her story is actually pretty incredible / inspiring. First hand account of what working hard can get you coming from nothing (she actually dropped out of HS and paid her own way starting at 16).

Would actually really like to hear more on this. Details?

Most ridiculous and in poor taste thread I've ever seen on here and that says a lot

Shut up and go stare at your excel spreadsheet, monkey.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, all real estate people. One of the people has a grandmother who is like #525 or something on the Forbes list. I would assume he is the wealthiest as a result of that and his own success, but who knows.

A friend of mine, does F&B and has control of a huge percentage of in food-related businesses within my country. An exact percentage can't even be stated because most of it is connected through the back end, and run by a bunch of different front companies. Net worth can't really be estimated either but an example of his wealth would be he once walked into a car dealer with his friend because that friend wanted to look at cars. Just so happens he sees a Maserati that he likes, and decides to buy one each for his friend and himself.

I know someone on the board of a large tech hardware company. He started with them in the 1980s and worked his way up. He then retired, and a few years later wanted to still be involved but not work all that much, so he was given a position on the board.

Know a woman who was a banker at BB for many years, then transitioned to corporate finance after 2008. She is now the CFO of a very large cloud computing firm.

My mentor,

Former S&T MD at a IBAB (In-Between-A-Banks) - been at this firm for 8+ years, but has 25 years of S&T experience.

Similar to @guggroth93" I am not aware of his net-worth, but overtime I have managed to acquire some insight and can reasonably proclaim: >$5MM. Base was typical, though slightly elevated due to experience, while bonus was extraordinary.

His is very frugal - I won't disclose location of his goodies and tangible assets.
