24F PE Associate looking for NYC roommate

LOOKING FOR FEMALE ROOMMATE

Hi everyone! I'm planning on moving to Manhattan in late July / early August for my job as a private equity associate. I’m looking for a female roommate similar to my age (24 years old) and vibe. My budget is ~$2,500, and I’d like to get an apartment close to the 6, E, or M trains. I'm opening to joining you if you have a open room or searching together for a 2 bed! Midtown East, Murray Hill, Kips Bay, East Villiage are all neighborhoods I am considering.

About me:

  • Grew up in Northern Virginia and went to UVA (wahoowa!!), class of ‘22 Commerce major.

  • I’m currently in Charlotte, NC and have been here for two years working in investment banking.

  • In my free time, I like to explore new restaurants, go to concerts, play video games, and draw/paint. I’m pretty quiet at home, but definitely enjoy fun nights out at bars and other people’s house parties.

  • I’m looking for a female roommate who is a straightforward communicator, down to explore NYC with me, and is clean/neat!

If I sound like a cool potential roommate, please feel free to drop a comment or message! We can add each other on Instagram / FaceTime to vet each other.

Totally unrelated (I’m a guy) - was wondering how you’re going about budgeting how much to spend on rent? I’m thinking of spending a similar amount but it seems pretty substantial as a % of my base, but okay as a % of my total comp

The 40x rule dictates that if you want to spend $2,500 per month on rent, you should be making at least $100K.
