30 minutes a day of self improvement using only a mobile device

I'm setting aside 30 minutes each day at work to take a break and do something to enhance my life. What are your suggestions?

I already "read" audio books while working out.

I want to be a better person, be happier and have a better career.

Try journaling--it helps a lot in sorting out your thoughts, expressing yourself, articulating your ideas, achieving mental clarity, etc.

Start with meditation. No fancy stuff. Just set a timer for 15 minutes on your phone. And before you begin, open up a notepad and write everything troubling you at the moment - like a brain dump. Then, go into meditating.

Even the process of meditating should not be complex. Inhale with your nostrils, exhale with your mouth. Do this deliberately for a minute or two and as your breath settles, stop being deliberate and return to your natural breathing rhythm at a settled pace.

Increase the time gradually to 20 minutes and then 25 minutes. You will get distracted initially but learn how to swiftly brush the thoughts away and focus on your breath. I found this to be quite relaxing. Helps me maintain discipline and focus.

actual reading, not just audiobooks

breath work (easier to get started than meditation)

call someone you haven't spoken to in a while, let them know you care about them

learn a foreign language and study this during that 30 minute window

learn/revisit a concept you're interested in via youtube videos or something similar, be it Ottoman Empire history, probability theory, how to spearfish, doesn't matter, just something not directly work related. learning is the key here

I personally do all the above and have noticed meaningful improvements to all aspects of my life since I started being more intentional with this.
