Risky, but I think this will help you in the long run. What exactly will you be doing at this boutique? Is it paid? What are your long term goals? You can use this position to leverage yourself at a say, BB firm, if you decide to go down that route. If you are sure that this will open doors, then go for it and don't look back.

 

Are you going to be working in a financial hub (SF/NYC)? Or are you going to a regional office? If you are going to a hub I'd say it's worth it. The experience you'll gain at the hub will push you ahead and then you can come home to get an MBA or try to lateral to a local bank. The experience in a financial hub will help your chances in your local area.
