Andrew Left and TSLA: fighting off your confirmation bias

So Andrew Left from Citron changed his position to long after being short on TSLA for 5 years and suing Musk a few weeks back. While his thesis in itself is a great topic, I found Andrew Left's call fascinating especially since I see a lot of good reasons out there to be short TSLA.

I'm an infant compared to some of the more seasoned professions on the site and I find it very hard to fight off my confirmation bias. Do any of you have a process to stop yourself from discounting news that are not favorable to your current position?
