Android keyboard malfunction

There's this glitch on my phone in which parts of a previously typed text autocopies itself onto another location; the typed letters delay before showing up on screen; selecting & replacing or clearing selected text is never successfully complete, and sometimes unselected text gets deleted; sometimes the cursor jumps on its own to another location & the typed text is jumbled into gibberish containing words interspersed into another random word; etc. What are the solutions
