Any other college students with addiction issues?

I'm completely addicted to alcohol. I'm able to still maintain a 3.9+ GPA at my school through sheer discipline, but every other waking moment involves alcohol. I've had some issued pop up like how I totaled my car while drunk but was able to get off without charges fortunately; this was as it was in my own neighborhood, and the cops didn't wanna fuck me. I feel horrible about that. I live in Los Angeles outside of college, and I realize I could have killed somebody. I don't drive anymore, but I'm still with the addiction. I'm still able to maintain grades and got a BB SA which converted to an FTO.

Makes me feel bad. It's genetic. Relatives have died from it. I don't want to stop though. Why would I? I can manage my work well enough. Who needs love when you have this? At least this is how I feel. I tried taking medication (vivatrol or however you spell), but it doesn't work. Anyone else in the same boat?

What’s your drink of choice and how many do you drink?

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

If you feel bad yet you still dont want to change your ways, none of our advice will do you any good. You need some professional help or at least some thorough self-inspection on what you truly prioritize in life. Good luck bro
