Anyone get migraines?

I’m not talking about headaches. I’m talking about legitimate migraines. Does anyone else get them?

I suffer from hemiplegic migraines - a relatively rare type of migraine that produces stroke-like symptoms including facial numbness, severe weakness, and mental confusion along with the skull crushing headache, extreme nausea, and literal blindness that accompanies my more “typical” migraines. Luckily, I don’t get them frequently (usually 1 per month), but I still live in near constant fear of getting another one.

I can generally sense an attack coming, and they typically last between 8-12 hours (meaning that once I feel one coming I automatically know that the rest of my day is totally shot). When I say I am useless when one of these hits - I mean I am utterly useless; imagine a blind stoke victim trying to built a model.

Given the silent nature of migraines they are often stigmatized by those who have never experienced one. I feel like this stigma is magnified in finance.

Anyways, do any other monkeys suffer from migraines? Any tips on how to manage them when they strike at work?

Yes man you are not alone with this. My solution is to get off caffeine and find other ways to get energy/stay awake. Focus on sleeping, working out. and being physically in shape. With WFH, get some dumbbells, a yoga mat, cable, anything you want to use to work out, and do quick explosive sessions.

All jokes aside, I get serious sharp pains in between my anus and ball sack. The pain is so intense I have to activate and squeeze my gluteus for 30 secs until the pain disappears. It happens every once in a blue moon.
