Anyone get sad nostalgia looking at childhood photos?

Happened to be scrolling through some old childhood photos I had saved on the cloud and honestly got quite sad. These pics included me and my younger brother, my parents, our grandparents, mostly taken while on vacation in their home country. And I involuntarily started to tear up thinking about how simple and innocent life was back then. Being completely ignorant to the complexities of life, not really worrying about anything serious, etc.

I get a similar (but not nearly as strong) feeling watching videos (news coverage, interviews, etc.) from the 2000-2013ish time period - again coming from a feeling of "simplicity" and "innocence" that those times seem to have. For reference, I am in my very early 20s.

Would be interested in hearing any thoughts on nostalgia or this perception of innocence in retrospect or similar

I’m 19 and feel the exact same way while scrolling through photos, videos, tv shows/movies, even commercials from ~2006-2015. This also happened to be the golden age of the internet which had a way different vibe than today. I was also raised primarily by my grandparents who I took for granted and didn’t realize how important they are to me until I was separated from them a couple years ago. It makes me feel hopeless sometimes, thinking “things will never feel as special as they did back then”.

But the thing that keeps me going is my belief that we have the power to make these types of memories for the younger generations.

Mid 20's here. I was fortunate to have an amazing childhood/adolescence full of relatives, camping trips, good friends, adventures. I also have a really deep sense of nostalgia for those times. I think it is important to continue trying to live in the moment, enjoy life and never stop learning/expanding your horizons as you get older. I know my younger self would never believe how far I have come, and I hope in 10 years I can look back on my current self with nostalgia and again feel I have come so far.

I feel the same way, especially when I come across videos on YouTube from that time. Sometimes I use the internet archive wayback machine to view old blogs and stuff, the cool thing is generally the old layout and design of the time is preserved. That really lets you feel the innocence and simplicity of things back then.

I’m a fun guy. Obviously I love the game of basketball. I mean there’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about myself. I'm not just gonna give you a whole spill... I mean, I don't even know where you're sitting at
