My fiancée is a dentist, just asked her while reading this.
Don’t do this. Will need to do this a few times to get coffee stains fully out and this mixture is very abrasive and apparently will remove your enamel, making your teeth more fragile and highly sensitive.
Once might be okay but multiple times is a no.

For the love of everything fine and good, please do not do any of this. Don't use baking soda, charcoal, or any other abrasive substance as an at-home remedy. Get regular cleanings and, if you must, get in-office peroxide treatments or have trays made for you.

"Most those products use peroxide anyway" is irrelevant when I said people could go get peroxide treatments. The issue is the baking soda, which is too abrasive. Using it once every 6 months is 10 times in 5 years, and so on and so forth. It's not worth doing. Do things the proper way. You have the money to.
kellycriterion is about maximizing the geometric rate of returns. Depending on your utility profile, that may not be rational. Half-kelly and rock on.

I've used opalescence before and liked it generally. Really have to be careful about getting it on your gums and not leaving it on more than the time specified or you'll get zingers. I do it once or twice a year max
Bedside advice coming straight from a dental professional:
Go see a dental hygienist to get your teeth cleaned. Do a regular cleaning with polish, should be good (usually covered twice a year with insurance). If stain remains, they can also do a chemical whitening.
And to prevent further staining, always drink anything other than water using a straw.
If no straw, rinse and wash your mouth with water right away.
Is a dental hygienist different from a dentist?
Presumably the difference is if they can perform surgeries
Dental hygienists are completely different from dentists. Dental hygienists can perform oral hygiene tasks like teeth cleaning and scaling and brushing teeth with fluoride treatments or gels. Dentists (and dentist specialists) can do extractions, root canals, fillings, maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, periodontics, make dentures, do implants, crown and bridge work, and on and on.
My last visit to the dentist, the hygienist commented how white my teeth are and asked if I drink coffee or not. I said I drink coffee everyday and she was very surprised. I drink a lot of green tea too and my teeth don’t stain for some reason. I use 3D white Crest toothpaste and an Oral B electric toothbrush.
Drink from a straw, brush 2-3 times a day, and invest in those crest white strips.
Dental hygiene is mostly diet anyways tbh
Paradontax brand toothpaste works best for me
I think Amazon sells DIY kits to whiten teeth, anyone familiar with these?
FFS professional teeth whitening is $200 just be an adult and schedule an appointment with a real dentist.
