Anyone started a business whilst employed?
Anyone here started their own business whilst employed in finance? Or know anyone that has?
Technically speaking, my contract says I should inform my employer of outside business interests before engaging. Despite this, I feel like I may try and get it off the ground first, get proof of concept and have some money coming through the door before I let anyone know.
Want to avoid a situation where I inform work, get approval and the business falls flat on its face. Huge embarrassment!
Any anecdotes greatly appreciated.
started several while working, my contracts didn't have that specific clause, only directorships that needed to be disclosed.
Yes. I'm big on just doing stuff and dealing with the consequences later. They usually never come.
