Are Equinox prices firm?

Just moved back to NYC and saw that Equinox is doing a November free promo. Normally wouldn't consider but the NYSC near me closed permanently and Y hasn't reopened, so I'm left with few close-by options.

I asked for a price from them and they said $265/mo all access, but from reading online I've seen so many different price points ($171, $195, $200, $240, etc). I don't have a corporate discount, but are people negotiating better prices or are these all just different corporate discount rates?

I don’t think they’re negotiable, although you could negotiate the initiation fee if they try to make you pay that. But I have never met anyone who has had to pay their initiation fee, they seem to always be doing a promo cancelling that fee. I’m in the Bay Area but pay $235/month for single club access, but access to any club would have been $265/month I believe. You also have to sign a 12-month contract, so keep that in mind.

I had to pay the initiation fee. There was no other option or promotion. It was like $600 or something in 2008.

$300 signup fee isn't too bad.

Negotiate what you can, I'm sure there are a lot of deals going on right now. Gyms like Equinox are pros at fucking people over so read the fine print before signing any agreement don't just take some sales reps word for it even if you just verbally negotiated. They will bend you over and insert a barbell if you aren't paying attention.

prices are negotiable...however, the salespeople make a commission based on total revenue...so they are incentivized to use high pressure tactics to get you to pay higher prices....and will use pressure tactics to get you to sign right away.

just google it...you're welcome
