AT&T Vs. Comcast - Internet Only

I'm paying $40/month for 75Mb/s with Comcast on a one-year promo that expires tomorrow. Thinking of switching to AT&T. They quoted me $40/month for 50Mb/s with a 1TB cap but they say their shit is 50up/50down, so about as fast as Comcast. 1TB cap is a slight concern, but I don't torrent that much anymore so it's whatever. Where are you guys getting internet only (no TV)? Dealing with Comcast is a pain in the ass. I'm gonna have to cancel my account and re-sign under my wife's name to get that promo again because the script-reading mongoloid on the phone will tell me they no longer have that promo. And doing this shit every year is a PITA. Is there any way to just get fast internet at a consistent, fair price?

My father always just calls Comcast customer support and if you say "this is way too expensive I'm not paying it." enough times they'll give you another year of discounted price. He pays $45/month for the blast pro plan.
