Sad, but it's the result of the massive sense of entitlement after his overnight success. Constant drinking, partying, sex, and drugs really can take a toll on your health. Hopefully we can all take some wisdom from this.

His music ran across many genres with EDM which is why I liked it. I wasn’t a big EDM fan but what he did brought it down to a level where others not into EDM found they could enjoy.
I spent many a summer in the clubs of Europe getting rejected by some bird while dancing to Avicii! Great memories.

Very sad indeed. I (and many of you guys too, probably) grew up on the tidal wave revival of house music that Avicii was mainly responsible for during the early 2010's. Bangers like Levels, Blessed, Seek Bromance, and Silhouettes bring me back to the northeast, fratty days of my youth when I was trying to discover where the hell I belong in this world. Fist pumping and grinding to his music made that a little more fun, no?

I'm sorry I just watched "Seek Bromance", and listened, it is honestly the gayest music video I have ever seen. It would be ok if it was about two gay boys who are trying to be together in a time that doesn't understand, or...something. But no, it is about two "straight" friends, and the music is terrible.
Anyone who likes him should call their life up to this point a waste, and start a stamp collection, or coin collection, or something productive.

Regardless of what caused his death, I always find it sad when someone with so many years left to live passes away. I suppose his family and fans can take some comfort in knowing he left behind work that will be appreciated for years to come.
Shocked to see he is dead - I saw him at encore 6 years ago and wow. But ultimately don’t care. He was a fucking DJ. The world will happily continue.

This news hit me super hard, tbh Ant... But that's because I have a lot of ties to the music industry and I know with great certainty that my life today would be totally different if I hadn't come across his music. It's fine for people to be ambivalent, but I think it's a bit callous to project perspective onto others. I choose to believe that people can make an impact, and even if that impact doesn't stand the test of time, there's still beauty in inspiring people and giving hope during the time you've been given... Tim did that for me.
