Best books on management?

Could anyone advise on some good books on management? I'm looking for something more "technical" or academic. Please avoid bestsellers: 7 HoHEP, Dare to Lead, Leaders eat Less, etc.

I'm looking for something more relevant for business school (with cases preferably).

Thanks.

So your not really looking for books on management, but books on business/strategy/case studies? When you say management I think of people, organization and process.  When you say "business school (with cases preferably)" I think of case studies with cross functional analysis that includes technology, process, bizdev, strategy, sales, marketing, finance, people, organizations, etc.... Can you narrow it down?

So your not really looking for

How do you get through life writing like this?

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

Out of your whole response you could’ve at least recommended a book. I think what you described is exactly what we’re looking for. A book that comprehensively goes over cases and putting portfolios together

Probability Drucker or the Harvard Business Review case studies.

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

The books by Amy Suh really helped me when moving into management. She writes for HBR so if you like that style of writing, you will be able to take in her books quickly.
