Best Morning, Daily and Nightly Routine?

Anyone know what's the "ideal" morning, daily and nightly routine? Finance and Accounting is notorious for brutal hours and imbalanced lifestyle. I'm going to head into the industry in a year, and I want to set some habits into stone before beginning.

For those in the industry, how do you take care of your physical and mental health? Tend to your friends and family/significant other?

I find that it'd be near impossible to find time to: work out, cook, clean the place, hang out with friends, and indulge in any hobby, while maintaining 60-100hr work week.

"FinnesseGod" Finance and Accounting is nutritious for brutal hours and imbalanced lifestyle.

Not nutritious for your health, though

Wake up, jack off. Before going to sleep, beat it again. Keep those numbers up buddy

Accounting is nutritious for brutal hours?

Every part of this statement is wrong, bruh

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

"Intern in IB - Ind" I believe they meant notorious?

I've never heard accountants having notorious hours

Most Helpful

Morning - See sunlight outside: Wakes you up and keeps your circadian rhythm in line - Stretch: Stay limber with the long hours at the desk - Exercise: Even if it is for a few minutes, this helps to wake you up by activating the sympathetic nervous system - Cook with podcast - Gratitude: Shown in double-blind control studies to increase life satisfaction and happiness - Watch comedy or something that makes you laugh/smile: increases dopamine - Drink water/vitamins. I personally have general health, immune health, and memory/focus support - Meditate/Have some time for quiet reflextion: great for combating stress and anxiety and can also improve focus

During the Day - Drink water, not just coffee - Have time to walk/stretch and get a breathe of fresh air - Look away from the screen every 20 minutes. It is especially good to look out a window and switch between focusing on the glass pane and the objects through the window - this actually strengthen the eye muscles that degrade when you stare at a screen. - Get back support for desk to improve posture

Evening - Gym w/ podcast - Call a friend: don't lose those relationships you formed - Read something non-finance related - Lay out your clothes the night before: saves time in the morning - Clean/Organize your space: better than doing a long cleaning every 2 weeks - Don't have any overhead lights or electronic screens 1.5 hours before bed: super important - Keep track of habits with a habit tracker - Do breathwork to calm down (2 long inhales followed by an exhale) - Stretch - Journal

Weekend - Set up plans in advance for next weekend - Take alcohol pills (DHM detox or Thrive +) after drinking - Meal prep so I don't have to cook after work

I do 90% of these and it takes about 45 min in the morning and a few hours at night (including gym, reading, and calling a friend). You may not be able to do all of them, but certainly adding some will benefit you greatly.

Funniest

In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I’ll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion
