Career Resources
Anton Chigurh (no country for old men) and Hans Landa (Inglorious Bastards)
Beat me to it. This performance was one of the best out of Hollywood over the last decade plus. Incredible acting job.
inb4 Gordon Gekko
Johnny Ringo

My pick though would be the blow-up doll from Airplane, hands down.
Blow up doll from Old School too. Airplane is a great flick
Neal McCauley.
Nice. Heat is a bitchin movie.
Ed Exley, LA Confidential Maximus Decimus Meridias, Gladiator King Leonidas, 300 Driver, Drive Tyler Durden (both Ed and Brad's characters), Fight Club Denzel Washington in pretty much every single role he's ever done Bud Fox, Wall Street (surprised he hasn't been mentioned)
However, the best fictional characters ever are: Vic Mackey, The Shield Walter White, Breaking Bad Jack Donaghy, 30Rock
This conversation should include TV characters.
The bash brothers from the mighty ducks?
That's the obvious choice, but I didn't wanna pat myself on the back too much
The Dude from Big Lebowski Frances Mcdormand in Fargo
Paul Scoffield as Thomas More in A Man for All Seasons was pretty great. Very human. Heith Ledger as the Joker wasn't bad either. Marlon Brando as Col. Kurtz in Apocalypse now was decent.
Willy Wonka and Norman Bates.
Regards
What about wade garrett in roadhouse
i'm willing to bet that you are a American east coast male between 20-25 who frequents barstool sports every hour and believes what the site authors say as Gospel.
Not hating, just stating. Am I right>?
Semi...more just n love with roadhouse
Plus I think KFC is a fat cunt and not funny
Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade
Tyler Durden. Darth Vader (excluding the prequels.)
I used to love Gekko, but Wall Street 2 more or less ruined him for me. God, that movie was so awful.
all of three six mafia http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368342/

the princess from Enchanted

Also like Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood.
Swagon, its like youre typing gold that is just shooting happiness and smiley faces in to my eyeballs. Are you a leprechaun? Or a fairy?
That sounds like the propaganda the Chinese government puts on the goods they sell in China. "Happy rain makes for strong notebook sunshine!"

This plus Dirty Harry (but only in the first Dirty Harry movie. He was less badass in the others)
no love for eddie in fight club? if not, then him in American History X for sure
others:
Mark Wahlburg in departed matt damon in rounders and goodwill hunting kevin spacey in that film where he pretends to be disabled brad pitt in snatch Leo in gangs of New York Tom Cruise in the first half of Vanilla sky
All time best (i.e. interesting) characters: - Michael in The Deer Hunter (you must watch this film, one of the best ever made) - Lester Burnham in American Beauty - Michael Corleone in The Godfather
I would have loved to add Gordon Gekko, but I don't like the way they developed his character in the 2nd film (it could have been epic). I felt it was too superficial. The others I mention above are all complex flawed characters who really make the films they are in. Interesting stories and development.
Interesting / noteworthy characters: - Mr. Earl Brooks in Mr. Brooks (you have to watch this film) - Derek Vinyard in American History X (amazing how this film humanises such a disgusting character and to see how he develops. Also, fabulous acting by Edward Norton) - Blake in Glengarry Glen Ross (a cunt, in the best possible meaning of the word) - Tony Montana in Scarface (no comment necessary) - Tom Ripley in the Talented Mr Ripley
These are less impressive as the first group, but pretty interesting.
Denzel Washington in The Hurricane (and maybe Training Day). Leo DiCaprio (Frank Abignale), Catch me if you can. Tom Hanks as Forest Gump.
Seeing as we're talking characters wouldn't Tyler Durden from Flight Club mean both Ed Norton & Brad Pitt's characters?
Good call on Matt Damon's character in Good Will Hunting. Love that film.
Tom Cruise's character in Born on the 4th of July was excellent too. I would say Oscar worthy. "Citizen Dildo" was great in Vanilla Sky. I want to see the original though.
gooooniesss
Ricky caldwell from silent night deadly night 2
Just look up garbage day and you'll see why
Chris Gardner Robert Neville
He was a great actor and was great as the Joker, but the character just isn't that interesting. Pretty one dimensional and doesn't develop in the film.
I am Legend. Also, I disagree with your opinion on Gardner. He was a fucking badass character. I don't care if he was real or not. Most movie characters have some sort of real life person behind their existence.
I think Edward Norton is very underrated...not that people don't think he is a good actor, but he doesn't get much attention. Along with the movies above, he did an excellent job in Primal Fear.
Theodore "Ted" Crawford in Fracture was a great character.
Regards
Patrick Bateman.
Also can't believe Heath Ledgers performance of "Joker" hasnt been mentioned...
seabird mentioned it above...although technically he mentioned "Heith". At any rate, it was a great performance, but as a 'character' I think you have to include any other film appearances and those have been, at best, par.

almost 4got the greatest dramatic per4mence sense the golden age of hollywood, my boy R got robbed of an oscarmayer
Blake- Glengarry Ross "Put that Coffee down, Coffee's for closers"
What about female characters? Someone mentioned Marge Gunderson in Fargo (Frances McDormand's character).
I love Carey Mulligan, but can't think of any of her character's that were that great. Judi Dench played a pretty intense character in "Notes on a Scandal" (worth checking out).
"aint none" is a double negative. You loser
Alonzo Harris (Denzel) in Training Day. Very relatable character and he played it exceptionally as a thespian.
Driver - Drive Andy Hanson - Before the Devil Knows Your Dead (But Hoffman is amazing in pretty much everything) John McClane - Die Hard Andy Dufresne - Shawshank Bud White - LA Confidential (ditto for Crowe - in particular The Insider) Anton Chigurh - No Country for Old Men Rooster Cogburn - True Grit Lowell Bergman - The Insider (purely because of Pacino) Tony Stark - Iron Man Frank Drebin - Naked Gun Tommy D - Goodfellas
Generally, Denzel, Russell Crowe, DiCaprio, Hoffman and Robert Downey Jr are all tremendous actors.
Haha, love Lt Drebin.
Walter Sobchak, hands down
John Malkovich. Burn After Reading!
