Voters at the ames straw poll received a complimentary ticket to a Randy Travis concert upon registration with the Bachmann campaign.

Bachmann won the poll with 4823 votes while Paul came in second with 4671. From this we can infer that for Paul to have won the poll, ≥153 (3.2%) of these voters would have to have voted for Bachmann only for the gifts. Of course you won't hear anyone in the media cover this as it would require them to mention he-who-must-not-be-named.

What's a Randy Travis?

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

Why?

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

So, what you're saying is that a bunch of rednecks voted for some idiot because they got a free ticket to a douche bag's concert?

So, what else is new?

Guess where John McCain placed in the Ames straw poll in the last presidential election? #1, 2, maybe 3? Try #10. Iowa knows their poll doesn't mean shit- but they hype it up to get national attention and campaign promises. Make no mistake, Mitt Romney is the real front runner - he just learned from 2007 and didn't waste time/money on the Iowa poll crap this time.
