Brofessor Appreciation Thread

So in the spirit of pulling another monkey up that is having a bad day, I wanted to start this thread to show appreciation to someone who has been especially insightful on this forum, thebrofessor.

The dude shares career advice, finance principles, moral wisdom and genuinely enters each discussion with an intellectually honest approach. Not many people can say that they have been a stand out contributor and person, so I'll do it for him.

Thanks man, we really appreciate you here. Even if we're all a bunch of finance fucks just trying to get ahead. We gotchu.

So monkeys, think for 10 seconds - who can you reach out to and make smile? Just a simple, random gesture really does make life awesome.

Completely agree. What's the point of a community if we don't pull each other up, you know what I mean?

So Rabbit get real with me. When was the last time someone pulled you up? How can the community help you? What kinda shit you facing at the moment?

I'm pretty sure at this point we can crowd source from the board and remove some hurdles for people. Hit me with it.

Just had my trade dispute rejected by Schwab for a loss of 35k. This single issue alone should be a gigantic red flag to anyone who trades on their platform. If they have a system error, and you do not video record your trading (they actually said this), they will not honour their fuck up. Switching everything away from them. Fuck this company.

Legit the older brother I wish I had growing up. Cheers!

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

That's a really powerful statement man, can you help me unpack that? Wondering what impact he might have had on you, or what you appreciate about him?

1) He knows his shit but doesn't brag. So you have a good model.

2) He's actually very willing to give advice and teach. It takes patience to do that.

3) Man of class but also knows how to party.

So you have someone knowledgeable, easy to talk to, fun, cultured, whose second opinion you can count on. Rare

Thank you for your kind words, I've not always been like this and I'm certain there's some dirt on me from years ago

i don't know when I realized it but life's too short to be an asshole automatically even though it's easy, so I try really hard to be kind even in the face of people like the gent you mention

that, plus from a practical standpoint most assholes just want chaos, so when you argue with them, it's like gasoline on a fire

The thebrofessor is by far the best contributor to this community and I would risk to say to us monkeys. No need to repeat all the qualities already mentioned, but just add that, for dinos on this forum like me, it is a recurring reason to comeback and also contribute. Always cherish his words, thoughts and jokes. Keep it up brofessor, enriching our lives and careers (beyond to doing the same for your clients portfolios, but most importantly, to your well-being). My gratitude to you!

Wish I could name specifics, but everyone tagged under this thread are awesome examples. For young kids like me, having accredited professionals giving out so much advice makes this community like no other. I’ve learned more from here than I will in college in terms of recruiting and the like. Stumbling upon this forum not only helped me develop a career path I want to pursue, but has given me the practical advice on how to do it. For that, I’d like to thank the senior posters who are willing to be so generous with their advice. Appreciate y’all

The only person who I’ve actually clicked the follow button on for when they make posts. Been reading your comments since junior year of high school. Thanks dawg

You're welcome. If I can ask, what does this forum give to you?

I still remember 5+ years ago when I was moving to another city you gave me advice about the company I was interviewing with + gave me a heads up about the best route to take to avoid traffic. You go above and beyond, consistently & unprompted, probably to the point you don't even recognize you're doing it. We recognize it, though.

Thank you man.

attempting to teach others also helps the teacher, so I look at the forum as way to sharpen my own thinking, flesh out ideas, hear new perspectives, and share life experiences, good and bad

part of this is I feel a duty to give back since others helped me when I was lost, another part is I switched from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset, I truly believe there's enough happiness, wealth, jobs, opportunities for everybody, so why not share?

I come on infrequently now. A lot about the site has changed. It's nice to see that one thing hasn't, and it's everything everyone here has said: thebrofessor continues to share gems. I hope you're doing well, man.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.
