Calling All NYU Sophomores

Bit clickbaity, but are any of you guys subleasing your apartments this summer?!? I am looking for housing for my SA 2026 internship and starting to get a bit worried. Let me know, I'm very flexible and can put a group together or go solo if you're just subleasing your own room.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, finding summer housing for internships in NYC can be competitive, but there are options. Here are some tips and insights:

  1. Subleasing Opportunities:

    • Check out sublease offers from other interns or students. For example, a previous thread mentioned a sublease opportunity for a summer internship (6/1-8/15) at $1850/month. Platforms like LinkedIn, school forums, or even WSO threads can be great for finding these.
  2. NYU Dorms:

    • While NYU dorms are an option, they can be pricey (around $2.4k/month) and not always ideal due to location. If you're considering this, weigh the cost against convenience.
  3. Roommate Strategy:

    • Strongly consider teaming up with other interns. Many recommend reaching out to fellow incoming SAs at your firm or school to split costs. This can also help you secure better locations closer to downtown or midtown offices.
  4. Timing:

    • Start your search early. Based on previous threads, most people begin looking in late March or early April and commit to a place by May.
  5. Resources:

    • Websites like Luxury Living Suites or Airbnb (if still available) can be helpful. Additionally, keep an eye on WSO threads for any new sublease postings.

If you're flexible and proactive, you'll likely find a good fit. Good luck with your SA 2026 internship and housing search!
