Can you date a girl at a more prestigious bank than you?

Honest question — I know guys who (if being honest) would say no. I can say that from my experience that it is sometimes tough getting home around 7pm after working at a low tier bank that will never be a lead on a transaction and waiting for my girlfriend to get home around 2am. It takes a lot of maturity to stay up and make sure she gets home okay. The happiness I feel seeing her get dropped off by the former UMich lax analyst in her group covered in sweat, her hair tangled from a hard day’s work. She is always exhausted so she goes right to bed which consequently means we haven’t made love in a while, but I understand — I understand the commitment that goes into working at a BB. Yes, she may have to cancel on plans frequently to go hang out with her fellows analysts at strange times or stay over at a male colleague’s apartment to finish a slide deck, but these are tests the world is presenting you — tests that show whether your masculinity is sound or fragile.

OP is obviously a low quality troll, however the question in the title is worth answering.

I wouldn't want to date a girl working in IB or PE, regardless of whether her firm is more or less prestigious than mine.

Have you ever seen how women in high finance in their 30s and 40s look compared to women in normal jobs with regular working hours and a normal level of stress?

Get yourself a girl in marketing or something.

How dare you even ask such a question!? Your girlfriend is working very, very hard, and putting in many long and hard, rough, exhausting, physically demanding and passionate hours into her career! You should be lucky that her fellow analysts (particularly that fellow from UMich) are helping her, and that her male colleagues are being extra kind and attentive to her, especially at night when she had to work her hardest!

Your take is flawed and shows a lack of understanding of the female psyche. Ambitious women are only attracted to men who are at least as ambitious as they are. They'd never settle for a "stay at home dad".
