The average non car person does not like the whole SUV coupe body style. I'm a fan of the GLE Coupe especially the 63s with that V8. With that said I'd look at the Macan S, Maserati Levante and Jaguar F Pace. Also if you'd consider a non European option the Jeep Trackhawk is straight nuts.

yea it's the type of car to lease...depreciation makes Maseratis impractical to buy

Second. Cayenne is an awesome car, handles really well yet still practical. Personally, I just don’t care for the X series BMW.
If you do get the Cayenne, do yourself a favor and upgrade to the larger wheels. Makes a big difference and a much smoother ride.
I am a bit tired of the x6, hasn't changed much in the last years. Canyenne just presented its new model which will be on the streets soon, definitely check that out! Not a big Mercedes fan, but heard good stuff about the GLE coupe
You’re comparing an X6M to a GLE43? And what Cayenne? There’s several engines. The BMW will leave the MB for dead, a better comparison would be the GLE63. The Porsche is the best driver’s car of the bunch, and the nicest inside. The X6 is pretty damn fast. The MB is nice, but again...you need to be comparing the 63, not the 43. And it’s ugly.
What did you go with finally? Personally like the Macan a lot (for an SUV) and saw you test drove it
