Are you short tempered all the time and in every aspect of life? Or just short tempered when you’re under a lot of pressure?

  • Short-term solution: find some very adrenaline-fulled alpha male dominated trading shop a la Wolf of Wall Street
  • Long term solution: work on the temper issues because as you start to become senior, you may have juniors to shit on but you'll have to deal with clients who have no problem telling you to fuck off if you go Sean Penn on everyone around you. Plus, the high stress will have you in a casket by 60. Just not worth it.

I am fairly short tempered in some situations, but never at work. I simply don't care enough about office people to let them get to me. Is this for certain task you do or when does the switch flip on your end? You wouldn't be the first person with anger management issues at an office, there are quite a few anti-stress toys around where I work.

There are lots of ways to combat stress/anger - go for a hot beverage - try building good relationships with difficult people - smile more, actively - stay positive regardless of what happens, think of something else - don't forget: this is just a job. nothing to worry about in the long run. you will have other jobs, other careers and eventually own your business or retire or do something entirely different. you will get there quicker when you stay calm now.

relevant for me: the more I workout, the better I feel wherever I go.

If you have a short temper, I would attempt to work on improving it with a professional who perhaps may be able to help you find the cause/trigger and the solution as a result. This will allow you to better follow your dream job aspirations and not be limited by it.
