Cell Phones - How to beat them?

Does anyone subscribe to ANY cell phone service and pay their monthly dues, say $59.99/month AND actually just get a statement for $59.99/mo.?

It seems like I keep upgrading and upgrading my monthly plan and I STILL get charged for all kinds of random shit.

Have any of you kids figured these carriers out? What's the trick? Tell me. How do you beat them?

Taxes aside... it just seems that no matter what plan you subscribe to, they always get you with charges for something or other. I want a plan that doesn't have ANY extra charges for random shit.

Say you monitor your phone use and realize, ok I've been using less than 500 minutes for the past few months, I'm going to pick a plan with at least 500 minutes. Fine. But then you get charged $1.49 for each 411 call... you get charged another $1 for each text message... you get charged a service for this and then for that... so after it all sums up you're paying $100+. So what does the $59.99 plan cover?!?

So now suppose you pay a little extra, say $5/mo. to get unlimited text. Then they'll get you with out of zone calls etc. It's always something new. Bastards.

I'm just aggravated 'cuz I just got my new phone bill, that's all. Ofcourse I can afford it and I'm going to pay it... I'm just NOT happy.

I simply want to pay $59.99 and I want $59.99 to cover EVERYTHING. Is that too much to ask for?!?

I know you shouldn't sweat the small stuff... but I keep feeling like I'm getting ripped off each month. Argggghhh.
