Change Your LNKD Password NOW

Hey guys,

I'm hearing 6.5 million LinkedIn passwords were leaked to a Russian hacker forum a few hours ago. LinkedIn is saying they have no evidence of a breach, but do yourself a favor and go change your password NOW.

damnit I liked my old password.

Freaking russians. Aren't those guys a bunch of xenophobes who don't want outsiders in their country? And yet, they spend hours trying to get our attention by stealing our stuff.

Thank you for the heads up

Vontropnats As a Russian, I can say that we are among the least desirable people on this planet.

I disagree. Some of your women I have found most desirable in the past.

im not even Russian but you guys are unnecessarily stereotyping. the guy posted the passwords as proof of concept for his hack, they are still encrypted. change your password if you want, but you shouldn't be freaking out unless 1) you use the same password for other websites 2) use something in the dictionary as your password.

monkeyc...the guy posted the passwords as proof of concept for his hack, they are still encrypted...

Ohh, he's an honorable thief...I guess I shouldn't have been worried after all. LOL.

Regards

As of about 3 hours ago, 200,000 passwords had been cracked and matched up with usernames. Obviously these are going to be the very weakest of passwords (dictionary cracks, and probably passwords like 12345678 at that), but there is a contingent of hackers working on cracking the batch. Not a huge threat, but forewarned is forearmed.
