cheaper accounting / econ / math courses in DC

If you need to get some accounting courses under your belt for a reasonable price, check out this program. I recently completed the economics and accounting graduate certificates here, which was pretty much the best I could do coming from a non-target exercise science major and a previous career coaching travel soccer teams. Yes, after an ACL injury at 25, I decided to see what else was out there. A friend of mine shared this with me haphazardly, but it saved me from going back for a second bachelor's, so I thought I'd pass it on.

To make a long story short:

I started taking these courses 2 years ago, and with a couple of relevant internships and work exp, I've received good feedback from admissions counselors for my MSF applications to DC schools. After close to 50 credits, i earned a 3.6, which was a huge turnaround from my undergrad years, since grades weren't that much of a priority back then.

Graduate Certificate in accounting (distance learning): http://graduateschool.edu/index.php?option=com_co…;...

Graduate Certificate in economics (in-person, if you live in the DC area) http://graduateschool.edu/index.php?option=com_co…;...

Don't expect any on-campus recruiting, unless you want to be a government accountant / auditor, but if you need the courses to get ready for grad school, go for it. It helped me get to the next level, so I thought I'd pass this on. If have to start over completely from scratch (as I had to do) and are interested in pursuing a career in finance or business, this is a great place to start education-wise.

This school was originally part of the federal government and was run through the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), but it's now independent.

PS... IF YOU NEED TO TAKE CALCULUS... take it over the summer with James George. Just trust me on this one.
