Collecting unemployment while abroad....

Yes I know nobody is suppose to claim weekly benefits while abroad. I was just wondering how likely is for an Immigration Officer to know (upon entering the country i. e. LAX-Immigration) that you have been unemployed for a month and on top of that you have been collecting unemployment? Unemployment is a private insurance that employers pay for, it has nothing to do with public assistance such as food stamps, welfare, etc. Therefore it does not affect public federal/state/city funding in any way.

An acquaintance of mine got laid off, applied for unemployment, and went traveling abroad for 5 months. Her sister back in the USA was claiming her benefits online, so supposedly she still got a weekly check. When entering the country she had no problems whatsoever. I totally don't agree with this, I also don't believe her, but at the same time, it may be true.. Don't Immigration and Customs Officers at Airports have everybodys information (i.e. Unemployment Benefits) in their databases?

Do you think Interpol is going to be looking for you if you're crossing international borders while collecting $200 a week? Be serious, dude. They're interested in the condom full of heroin you shoved up your ass in the airport restroom, not whether you're scamming unemployment.

Jesus, I hope you're trolling, because if you're really this clueless then you're obviously management material in an investment bank.
