Commute Time and Naps

Currently deciding between 2 rentals - an old one being 5 minutes walk from office and a new, superior one being 15 minutes walk from office.

Was wondering how big of a difference the 10 minutes make as I would imagine the first option gives the possibility of sneaking a nap at home during down times which could help with the brutal IB hours

Sometimes it’s nice having a bit more space between home and the office. I hate going out at weekends when not working and feeling like I might accidentally run into my ED.

there was a 'dark room' in my last shop that was completely dark and silent with two large comfortable chairs separated by screens in to two small rooms. I used to go in there, recline the chair back, and meditate and always fall asleep for 30 mins. every single time I'd wake up and think shit I've been sleeping for hours, but its was only ever 30 mins max.

This. Also, a 15 minute walk to work isn't even that bad. You're going to be saving a lot more time than the average New Yorker or even 1st year analyst in finance as the average commute time (even with taking the subway) can be around 20-30 minutes.

Just take the nicer apartment as that 10 minute difference each way considering both apartments wont matter.
