Confucius Was An OCD Sexist

I've been researching ancient philosophers and am I missing something or was Confucius a dummy? He just said boilerplate "wise" shit like "Do unto others" along with other retarded shit like "When love strikes, do not delay." I.e. don't wait to get married. Which is shit advice. He thought people should spend half their days doing elaborate ceremonies and wouldn't sit on a rug if it wasn't at a perfect 90 degree angle. Also though women didn't deserve educations or much of anything else. Sounds like he just had OCD and a great sense of self-importance. Now Aristotle. there's a real philosopher.

Yea I don't think he's very different than a lot of the "wise men" from history, my exception kinda being Aristotle. Lot of cookie-cutter bullshit advice, mixed with the occasional bad advice, and sprinkled with a healthy dose of sexism. Even Jesus had shit advice, especially when it came to finances and personal freedom.

I think people are quick to overlook stupidity when "ancient" or "classical" proceeds their status of philosopher. But I agree, I've long wondered why he is so adorned. I'll take the writings of Sun Tzu over Confucius any day of the week.
