Crippled my GPA this semester

My gpa went down from a 3.8 to a cumulative gpa 3.55 this semester. I was out of a job and my fiancée broke up with me in the past couple of months - which broke me down mentally and emotionally (might be dramatic but I’m just being honest). I couldn’t concentrate during that time in which I missed assignments - particularly in one class (the easiest one).

I did very well on the more stem focused courses which are focused on building mathematical models and their software applications. The two courses I did crap on were the easier ones. These were mainly focused on international strategy, etc. but I missed so many assignments as they pounded us with a new paper every couple of days.

I have only 15 credits left before I graduate. How can I make sure I achieve straight As? Do you think I should postpone my grad. date so I can focus more on each course?

P.S. If a regular business school, like mine, is as brutal and demanding as this, I can only imagine what M7 or T20 schools are like. Props to all you MBAs who can handle that workload - you’re definitely deserving of your titles.

I’ve never heard that HBS is incredibly hard. Maybe if you’re a Baker scholar or something (top 5%). Med school or law school are typically known to be harder.

I don’t understand how you’re a senior and went from 3.8 to 3.55 - did you get a 2.0 or something - brutal hit to the GPA.
