Decided to renege - story time
Currently a junior at a semi target… I have decided to renege on my corporate finance f500 internship for a private equity internship at a UMM fund. I am not going to tell the company I will not be attending, I will simply not show up in the summer. I will continue leading them on, staying in touch, going through the background check, taking calls, etc all to simply not show up in the summer. I am doing this to strategically tear down this company limb from limb and receive the sweet vengeance I deserve.
But why?
Weird fetish but whatever helps I guess, you do you.
One time I was trolling this HR guy by pretending I had trouble opening the offer letter. Kept going back and forth for two months feigning technical difficulties and reneged on his ass. But guess what: they ended up cancelling internships cause of COVID. Another time some shitty startup gave me an offer but kept asking the founder stupid questions on purpose until she reneged on me.
Moral of the story: they'll dump your ass on a dime so why not have a little fun?

Because it's morally wrong to be a jerk to people. In the first case, you just tortured some guy trying to do his job. In the second case, you made yourself out to be so clearly incompetent that it forced a founder to go through what must've been a very uncomfortable process
This is very "put the dollar under a glass of water at a restaurant" energy
