Feeling a little lost. I have recruited really hard from a semi target, knowing that I didn’t come from a background that will position me well for recruiting and didn’t really have any club resources. I went all in and know that I worked harder than at least 80% of ppl at my school, which is the only group I can speak for (Logged 100 ntw calls by early January, counting 40 interviews and 12 superdays, got 7 offers, including multiple from top EB and top BBs). * Caveat: I have not been getting sleep, had to give up on maintaining relationship with many freshmen yr friends, went to the gym much less, and barely went to class this semester. Now that I have great offers in hand and job secured - which I saw as my one and only priority for the past 6 month or so - I realized that my academic, social, and personal life have been crumbling down. * I know you can’t have your cake and eat it, and I am also not complaining as I felt rewarded and validated for my work. And being a really goal oriented person, I also knew this is exactly what I signed up for. However, I can’t help but wonder what actual job on the floor will do to these things, and if so are there things I can do in the next two years to fix it/prepAre myself for it. * I am rambling now but was hoping working professionals in IB could share some thoughts.
