Desperately need some advice thx!

Hi guys, I'm graduating as a Master in finance this summer and didn't have a clear idea of what I wanna do until very recently I have decided to do something related to restructuring/ distressed debts etc. in the long run.

I think I have a weak CV - BB Ops summer intern & KPMG audit intern I won't be able to dive straight into some big names like Lazard or wtsoever.

Now here's my question:

Do you guys think Big 4 Restructuring would be a good stepping stone? Do you guys think Top 10 (e.g. Grant Thornton) Restructuring could also be a stepping stone?

I have tried to do a lot of research on the internet but couldn't really find any good advices. That's why I'm starting this thread because I'm desperate for some good advices!!!!!!

Thank you so much in advance!!

Thanks Clarkey!

I'm in London.

I came across one comment saying that big 4 restructuring is a big feed to restructuring elsewhere in London. Is that true in your opinion??

I'm a little bit in the same position as OP. I'm currently in Europe and looking for internship. I have applied to the big4 restructuring and I'm waiting for an answer. I come from a non target so I don't think that I will have a shot at HLHZ, Lazard... I would appreciate any advice or input on my current situation. Where to find a list of firms doing restructuring work in London ?

I think Big 4 restructuring is better than nothing, but not a great way to get into restructuring IB, perhaps slightly better to get into an investing role but still not great.

You could also consider some of the other restructuring advisors/turnaround consultants: Alvarez, FTI, Alix, Talbot Hughes McKillop, Grant Thornton, Zolfo Cooper, Kroll
