Do people in finance have a higher tendency to get bald?

Is it just me, or do people in finance have a higher tendency to get bald? Both in movies, in my school (finance), and at my bank I think that a higher percentage of the males that are balding than in other industries. Is there some truth to this?

I think there’s 3 things at work here:

1) finance is a stressful career, which is absolutely a contributor to balding

2) a plurality of finance is white dudes, who tend to see more balding than other ethnic groups

3) finance also probably skews older than other careers

We had the same discussion in our firm, and we compared our EU offices and US offices against each other when it came to hair loss.
Ultimately we realized that our Italian, French, Spanish and Swiss offices have a lot less hair loss than our US and UK counterparts. The big difference between these groups were diet, work/sleep pattern and, naturally, genetics.
This wasn't a scientific study or anything.

The most important factor is genetics.  If you do not have good genes, there is not much you can do about it without artificial methods.  If you have good genes, diet and proper hair products can make a difference.

I'm balding af. Shave the head periodically. Thankfully have a gorgeous head and face. Steroids are not helping. Don't take fina. It will make you a chemical hermaphrodite.
