Do socialists seriously believe everyone’s work is equally valuable ?
I consider myself very liberal but I have some ultra liberal/ socialist/ “communist” friends (not in finance) who always try to debate me on the topic of labor and what it’s worth. To me a doctor/banker/CEO obviously has more value than a janitor or a cashier. But friends and even random people on tik tok genuinely seem to believe that a doctor’s value for ex is the same as a janitor. I’m just shocked how anyone can seriously believe that. Thoughts ?

The socialists I've talked to argue for universal healthcare and social programs such as increased unemployment assistance, disability assistance, etc. I think both sides use socialism as a proxy for communism but not all socialists are communists or believe everyone should get paid the same amount
Less regulated and decentralized healthcare should be the future. Worked in the industry for 5+ years, so many barriers it's absurd. Universal healthcare would worsen an already overwhelmed system.

I think it's more just the idea that someone who works a "full week" (40 hours) should be able to make enough to have the ability to live a happy life.
