Absolutely. I’m a dad now and I still play video games. Usually FPS like COD, because strategy games (LoL, Diablo, etc). take too long and I don’t have as much free time anymore with a kid.
Me and some friends will FT each other and play FIFA against each other. That's always a good way to banter a bit. Also always enjoy some COD with the fellas as well
You guys should try ProClubs together, it's really fun lol.
Lethal Company is the perfect party game. Try it with your friends
I would be if I wasn't living with the gf. I try to spend any free time I have during the week with her/working out and then friends/her/football/workouts on the weekends

For a long time, I couldn’t play single-player games with a story and only played online. But I recently completed RDR2 and played more than 60 hours and I’m already thinking about what to start next. Keep an eye death stranding or guardians of the galaxy
cyberpunk 2077
Man just finished another round of Cyber punk 2077, RDR2 and Ghost......Starting on Last of Us II, but hoping something good comes up. NCAA 24 can only entertain me so much when it drops
Breath of the wild is sick. Would highly recommend even if you’re not a Nintendo guy.
God of War, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Witcher 3, Skyrim, Batman Arkham series are all elite
If on ps5 Ghost of Tsushima plays exactly like RDR2 just set in feudal Japan. Graphics are stunning and also reminiscent of god of war like playing controls
I would add to this all by saying now that you're a working adult and into open-world / story games, you should heavily consider upgrading to a PC and a nice monitor. Can get a really great setup these days for relatively cheap and the gaming experience blows a console and 1080p monitor out of the water.
I played red dead redemption from 2018 when I was in HS to 2022 and I have over 400 hrs over 4 playthroughs. Great game, greatest game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a great great game. Awesome storyline, Django Unchained meets GTA. I think GTA 6 will be even better if they use the same framework and interaction from RDR2
Any other map-game autists like myself here (Stellaris, HOI4, TWW3)?
unfortunately yes, i’ve played hoi4 for like 5 years and ck3 since it came out.
EU4 but cannot understand Stellaris for the life of me I’m retarded
EU4 is annoying because it has an absurd amount of DLCs. $300 worth. Great game besides that though.
Yea but I’ve been playing video games in my free time heavily for the past 5-10 years (had parents that didn’t limited tech when I was a kid so went the opposite way once I had the freedom) and have recently been trying to find other things to do. I like competitive gaming (normal modes bore me) but when I lose now it’s depressing and when I win I’m barely happier.
But I do still find myself falling back to gaming when I’m bored and want to mindlessly pass the time. I’ve always been a League degen, play OSRS casually, a bit of Apex, and sometimes random popular Steam games (played Palworld for a week or two). Only mobile game I dable in is CoC.
Got back into OSRS last summer. I wish the game was more social and had less bots. If it did, I would play it more. Now I play it probably 2-3 times a month. Have a level 80 something in F2P.
Also play OSRS, probably around 20 hours per week
Quit video games in college and it was among the best decisions I’ve ever made lol.
I heard the investment committee at CVC had to prove they were all active members in Runescape with firecapes in order to secure the bid for Jagex from The Carlyle Group.
Hilarious if true
I had no idea that Carlyle owed Jagex and sold it to CVC this year. For some reason (and may have been true in the past) I thought it was owned by some random Chinese PE firm. It’s a pretty cool investment - if I were to choose a video game company to invest in it would probably be Jagex (limited number of games to inflate valuation, extremely loyal/long term player base, straightforward business model today with opportunities for long term growth). Definitely over WoW/Blizzard.
Infernal capes*
Come on now...
Trying to get crim - barely have time
The Resident Evil series is great + allows you to play it bit by bit (in 20’ increments per savepoint)
I know guys who play video games AT work (cough ECM)
An online match of Madden after a day of work sends me straight to the hospital
Comment section full of singles
Nope, have a gf who lives with me and still play
I am currently playing township on my laptop.
I have no clue how anyone can get home from spending 12 hours a day on the computer, and want to fire up a different computer to play games on it. I'm only on my computer for about 3-5 hours a day, and I still have no interest in spending more time on the screen
you literally went on a computer to post this.
GT7 on my PS5. It lets me do everything I can't do IRL with my sportscar. other than that we mostly use it as a server to put crappy vlogs on the TV (not my choice)
do you have a sim setup for GT7?
I think I would start playing more games once I move in and set up the Xbox with a TV etc. But nowadays the updates and installations take way too long - the next COD/GTA installation will probably mean you have no free time during the week to properly start it
Yes, although less these days
I recently started using my PS4 again to play whatever games are still supported like OW2. I was pissed when I found the latest Madden for PS4 don’t have any of the new features.
At what point is it worthwhile to upgrade to the PS5? I really don’t play much but would still like to play games occasionally.
Like 2-3 years ago.
But at this point, just hang on until end of this year/early next when the PS5 Pro drops
Ah good point. Maybe there will be a steep price drop of the base PS5 when that launches also.
Rank? I'm low silver/high gold lol.
I don’t even know - I have like 5 games under my belt and have only played with Reinhardt
A couple games of Rocket league hits after a long day. Dropped a few ranks since college bit still fun
After I put my kid to sleep I spend 30 min sniping ppls heads off on Sniper Elite 5. Feels great to see the heads explode.
Depends whether you consider chess.com / lichess to be a video game? If you do, than "yes" - I play daily.
If not, sadly no - I simply don't have the time for video games anymore - though I did somehow manage to play and finish Cyberpunk 2077 during the pandemic. Cyberpunk was the last proper "video game" I ever played.
