North Carolina is clearly better than Chicago….

This post is entirely inaccurate. It really depends on the group you want to pursue - Industrials, for example, is very prominent in Chicago. Same goes for tech in SF. NYC is probably everything else. Sure NYC does have a lot more exit opportunities but you do pay a shit ton of taxes so there’s pros and cons of each. So do with this information as you will, but I would stop ranking cities and their prestige in banking.

Imagine thinking NYC is still T1 after the past 2 years lol

To be fair it depends on your background. If you have affluent parents who can splurge on a nice condo/taxi service you can pretty much avoid most of the crime/homelessness issue. There's a reason why the term "limousine liberal" exists.

What about LA and SF?

I personally love LA, SoCal, San Diego, etc..

SF on the other hand.. just fucking blows imo. Plus people always rave bout the weather.. what? It’s fucking cold year round. SoCal > bay all day every day

1. NYC

2. SoCal

Personally I think London is more prestigious than NYC. Telling people you work in London is more exotic and prestigious.
