girl who rejected/ghosted me messaged asking for IBD job

I matched this girl on a dating app around 6-12 months ago, and started talking for a little bit, eventually she started ghosting me, I tried my luck a few more times texting and inviting her out for dinner etc. but each time she just left me on read and never replied.

Anyway, it's now been a few months and she randomly text me saying she saw my team/bank is hiring and said she's interested in applying.

Now I'm unsure how to respond, do I either:

A) ghost her back

B) be salty and be like "oh you're still alive after ghosting me for so long"

C) be direct back to her like "the lack of respect for me you have to message me asking this after ghosting me all this time"

D) or am i overthinking and i should just be nice and help her

You are a loser clown.

OP don't follow this crap advice. Smash and ghost if you can, if not then just ghost

Whatever you do, do NOT do D. Jesus christ dude, how is that even an option? Unless you hate your self pls don't brother -- it's both bad for you and sets a terrible example to her for the type of crap she'll think she can get away with in future

I landed an eb and mfpe and went to a hypsm while being on erome all day🙏  trust the process man. Too many people hate on gooning but gooning will get you far if you don’t chase sex on top of it tbh

Obviously, this person has a lot of nerve. It's never B or C imo, or at least it certainly wouldn't be for me. I would ignore the message and wait for a second follow-up message. If she never sends a second message, that's the end of it. If she does send the second message, you can reassess what you want to do. I might send a message such as, "Hey, who is this again?"

Lowk you’re probably overthinking, as uncomfortable as it is, I’ve heard of people actually doing wack shit to be referred to an IB role. She’s probably just seeing you as a friend she can reach out to for help, not even gonna lie.

Think, "would she help me if I was in her position?"...that should answer that one for you (if she sees you as a friend, answer is probably yes tho)

Wow no offense OP but your cluelessness is legitimately baffling. Ask yourself if a person who clearly thinks you’re beneath them to the point they can’t show basic courtesy or respect for your time is someone you want to work with or recommend to your peers/superiors because their behavior will reflect on you.

I wouldn’t respond unless she follows up after you ignore her. And even then I’d be very soft and professional about saying no like saying I wouldn’t be comfortable recommending you and leaving it at that.

Currently An2 and really began to understand maybe HF guys are intellectually (way) superior seeing this guy asking this question on WSO

She is a hoo who wants to be used. it’s either you or one of your crusty seniors (DEI sponsor / girl dad / ally). You deserve this hawk tuah just as much.

Reply to her, coffee date, real date/smash, first round and then drop her. Feedback that she is super intelligent and came across well but wasn’t a good fit and you hired internally.

lol I had this happen at my first job. Wouldn't even bother answering but you should have read receipts on, silence speaks loudest.

Look, I’m not saying what she did was right — she sounds like a shitty person. However, on the off chance she ends up in the industry, you need to think long-term. I’m not saying help her, but I definitely wouldn’t tell her everything you want to tell her. The industry is small. Five years from now, she could be sitting across the table interviewing you — or worse, sitting right next to you.

Moral of the story: she’s an ass, but you NEVER know where people are going to end up. Can’t speak for IB, but on the trading side, I don’t give a fuck if someone is in Sales, Trading, Ops, a broker, whatever — ALWAYS treat people nicely. You never fucking know.

One thing I’ve learned recently is (I can’t speak to IB) that the trading world is a hell of a lot smaller than I realized I can’t speak about IB.
