Does ‘hustle’ culture stop when you start working?

Currently at school. In my free time, I feel  like I should be studying, recruiting etc in my free time. I still spend plenty of time with friends and girlfriends, but I feel guilty about it. Learning that little bit more about macro might tip the interview etc. Knowing when I get back from dinner I ‘should’ revise to make sure I score extra well.

i know its largely self-responsibility, but I want to be able to reclaim my free time outside of ‘uni’ hours. I know that this will be largely dependent on where you work, but what is your experience with feeling free time?

Different for everyone, because everyone has a different definition of "making it." It also comes in waves, to be completely honest. You "make it" and you're good for a bit, and then the hunger comes back and your definition of "making it" gets redefined so you grind again, mellow out, and the cycle repeats.

Don't feel guilty about time with friends and your girlfriend though. Come on, man. Maximize that time. You won't regret not spending an extra hour on some bullshit work that no one important is going to read anyhow. You'll regret not spending time with your boys or your girl.

Once I started my big boy job out of college I realized how much i hated working for someone else and thats when my productivity outside of working hours actually increased, especially when you have access to capital to make investments

It sort of becomes like working out. At some point you change from someone who is working out to stay in shape, to someone who enjoys/needs it, to it being a fundamental part of who you are.
