Don’t know anyone in NYC

I recently accepted my full time return offer, and the person who I was planning on living with (one of my best friends) went and interviewed/accepted offer from a firm in another city rather than accepting his return as well. I’m very disappointed because he didn’t tell me he was interviewing and now there will be no people I know in the city outside of work. Any advice?

You’ll make friends. It’s not that hard. It’s not unheard of to have friends at work, at my firm people hung out outside of work and were pretty tight-knit in general. Even that’s not the case at your firm, if you have any hobbies you can friends through that, go out and strike up conversations. Plenty of ways to make friends don’t stress out about it.

You’ll meet people, don’t worry.
