Just watched this and interested to see what you guys thought. As someone who really enjoyed both the Big Short and Vice, doesn’t particularly like social media, dislikes Trump and believes in climate change etc, I still really didn’t enjoy it.
In contrast to both McKay’s last two movies, the satire here just felt so overdone - in practically every scene it felt like I was being hit over the head by a sledgehammer. Also just felt like McKay was trying to cover waay too much in one movie - there were jokes about everything from Trump to Kavanagh, crypto, the stock market, Fox News, Jared Kushner. Just felt exhausting and as if you were being spoken to like a child/lectured to by Hollywood multi-millionaires.
So yeah definite thumbs down from me, despite liking his previous films. Of course most people on Reddit seem to love it for some reason lol. What did you guys think?
