25 mins.
Don't really get your second question unless it's a weird way of asking max commute time which would be like 35 mins if I had to.
Currently ~25min. At one point had a commute that was close to 1:15. It's a huge quality of life determinant and personally wouldn't do anything over 40min, especially if going in more than 3x a week.
0min WFH
10 minutes. Hybrid so only 40 minutes driving total to/from office a week. Previously was commuting 12.5 hours so cut my travel time down by nearly 19x.
Quality of life is insanely better
5 minutes to the office. WFH two days a week. My old commute was around 40mins both ways.
If I can afford to I plan on never having a real commute again, but would do up to 30-40 mins if I had to.
Approximately 8 minutes on foot, same by car once you factor in parking and light timing. I would always want to be sub 30 minutes.
10min each way. Typical rush hour rules where each minute delay adds two minutes to the commute.
WFH. Most I'd consider is 15-20 min, ideally in biking distance.
Did a hour long + commute out of college and it's soul crushing. You couldnt get me to do that again for a 70% salary increase being serious. If that's the kind of torture you put yourself through then you are fucking up your life
.
20-25 mins, Uber home at night is normally 15 minutes so not terrible by any means. Used to walk 8 minutes to work before and commuting now hasn’t been significantly different.
depends on how long the Muni rail takes in SF. Sometimes it's 15 minutes sometimes it's 30. Then it's another 10-minute walk from the station to the office.
Unfortunately 45m-1h depending on when I can leave. Kind of sucks and I’m planning to move when my lease is up. I like the neighborhood and my place, but the bus takes forever. Luckily working from home 2 days a week. If we go fully in person I would really be hating my life. I would prefer 30 minutes or less for my next spot.
5 hour flight, so I work from home
30-40min in, 20-25min in the evening. Works for me, throw in a nice pod and I'm cruising
I think about 17-18 minutes for my new job I just started
What kind of job is it?
warehouse job
NYC:
1st job (IB) was a 20 minute walk / 7 minute Citibike to the office
2nd job (PE) now a 25min (door-to-door) subway in the morning and 15-20min Uber in the evening since I stayed in the same apartment
Overall the commute is not bad but I much preferred walking or biking, especially since it was through a nice neighborhood (not Midtown). Walking to work on a warm, sunny day is amazing.
15 minutes walk from my door to ass in chair with a coffee
6 minutes if I take my electric scooter
15mins. Used to be ~40ish which frankly wasn’t so bad until you’re coming home past 1am. If you can wfh after dinner time then I think it’s fine.
Also having a full extra hour to sleep is super nice.
30-35 min on a good day, but as much as 1hr15min if I get fucked at the metro transfer. Really sucks.
Debating spending ~$2,000/month for a 10 minute commute or spend $0 but deal with a 0:50-1:15 commute each way (likely 3-5 days per week). This is for 8 months, 2 internships back to back. Which would you do?
cycling 50mins but that is really exercise as well. by train around 40+ mins.
I'm only going to the office like once a week and thats only so I dont feel like a weirdo sitting in my house all day everyday.
45 minutes but I love where I live so it’s ok
